Bike the Bend for Literacy
FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – Please join us on Sunday, November 24, 2013 for an exciting biking event—Bike the Bend for Literacy. This popular event is the perfect opportunity to get some exercise, enjoy the scenery of Fort Bend County, prepare for the MS 150 or just spend some quality time having fun with your family, friends and neighbors.
Bike the Bend is a BP MS 150 Recommended Ride benefiting the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County and begins at 8 a.m., starting and finishing at Foster High School, 4400 FM 723, in Richmond.
Cyclists return year after to year to enjoy this event, which is strategically scheduled for the weekend before Thanksgiving. Along Bike the Bend’s scenic 20, 35 or 62 mile routes, cyclists will enjoy first-rate rest stops stocked with delicious fruit and snacks provided by Whole Foods Market as well as a variety of cold beverages to fuel the ride. Local food truck, Fraiche, will be on hand with fresh brunch. As in past years, cyclists will find filling snacks, energizing music and enthusiastic supporters awaiting them at the finish line. Mark your calendars and save the date! Interested bikers may register online at www.ftbendliteracy.org or by calling the Literacy Council at 281.240.8181.
All proceeds will support the life-changing work of the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County, whose mission is to family, community and professional lives through adult literacy education.
